Abstract : This in vitro study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of Nd : YAG laser in locating and negotiating calcified root canal orifices. Forty freshly extracted.teeth with radiographic signs of root canal calcification were included included in this study Endodontic access cavity was performed and canals were tried to be negotiated by conventional means Then, the same teeth were exposed to Nd: YAG laser light and teeth were re-negotiated using the same techniques. Our findings showed that Nd: YA G laser light helped in locating root canals by a percentage difference of 49%. We concluded that using Nd: YAG laser is efficient tool in locating difficult to find root canal orifices.
